Joshua Rubinstein, ND

Dr. Joshua Rubinstein is a naturopathic physician who cares deeply about creating a safe, supportive experience for every patient.

Dr. Rubinstein earned his Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from Bastyr University in 2004. After graduation he was awarded Bastyr University’s Teaching Fellowship. This led to 21 years of instructing naturopathic medical students in the classroom and in Bastyr’s teaching clinic. Dr. Rubinstein then served as the Associate Dean of Clinical Education for the naturopathic medical doctoral program at the University of Western States. He continues to mentor future naturopathic doctors to help meet the growing need for holistic primary care.

In his visits, Dr. Rubinstein takes time to understand the influence of diet, movement patterns, stress, and sleep on your current state of health. Dr. Rubinstein has seen how establishing healthy habits in these areas can help create the circumstances for lasting change.

Dr. Rubinstein taught Bastyr University’s minor surgery course for 15 years and still enjoys performing procedures for patients. Other clinical interests include chronic pain, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune conditions. For his chronic pain patients, Dr. Rubinstein offers a very gentle style of indirect manipulation to support pain-free movement.

Dr. Rubinstein has seen how naturopathic medicine has helped his own children as well as many patients through their health challenges. He is a strong advocate for naturopathic physicians in primary care and hopes to see more integrative roles and residency opportunities, including in VA medical settings, where he believes naturopathic doctors can play a vital role in improving the health of veterans.

Dr. Rubinstein specializes in helping his patients with:

  • Chronic pain and fibromyalgia
  • Autoimmune conditions
  • Dermatologic concerns
  • Primary care naturopathic medicine
  • Functional indirect manipulation of the spine and extremities
  • Nutrition and lifestyle counseling
