Dr. Delores Stephens is a Naturopathic Physician and Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor who supports her patients in finding the optimal path for their health journey. She focuses on providing weight neutral care helping to dispel weight as the problem to be resolved. She provides a safe space for all, utilizing all components of body, mind, spirit as she guides and supports her patients. As a team, they design the plan for healing.
She received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from NUNM in Portland Oregon. During this time, she completed a 1-year internship with Dr. Steven Sandberg-Lewis focusing on gastrointestinal and visceral manipulation as well as an internship with Dr. Martin Milner focusing on naturopathic cardiology. She received her Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor training from Kerala Ayurveda Academy in Milpitas, CA. Her undergraduate degree was in Biology/Chemistry from Athens State University, Alabama. She has been a Registered Respiratory Therapist since 1997 and a Massage Therapist since 2002. She is also an Advanced Certified Grief Recovery Specialist.
Dr. Delores’ medical interests include cardiovascular, pulmonary, helping patients manage and correct diabetes and thyroid dysfunction, chronic EBV/Infectious disease, gastrointestinal, LGBTQIA+ competent care, and Physician Guided Intermittent Fasting.
Her goal in working with patients is to:
- Meet them where they are, not change who they are or suggest big changes that are unrealistic.
- Help patients reduce their reliance on prescription medications.
- Support the patient in integrating natural methods into their daily life that will be sustainable throughout life.
As a weight neutral provider, she uses her extensive medical experience to support and monitor her patient’s health with lab work and symptoms. Then create a plan along with the patient that will work in their current life. She draws from both naturopathic and ayurvedic modalities utilizing tools including food as medicine, nutritional supplements, herbs, lab testing and analysis, visceral manipulation, stress reduction education, counseling, hydrotherapy and essential oils.
Outside of her clinic life, she enjoys walks in nature, camping and playing pickle ball with her wife, spending time with their 4 Frenchie fur babies, 5 kids and 4 grandkids.
