Michelle Walz, MPT
Michelle is a licensed Physical Therapist and certified Therapeutic Yoga Instructor with a gentle treatment approach that integrates mindfulness, yoga, and holistic care into physical therapy. She provides a safe space that allows her patients to feel seen and heard. The type of yoga she offers is accessible to all patients, supporting them on their unique healing path.
Her treatment approach combines gentle movement, postural alignment, breathwork, and meditation to treat the whole person. Michelle cares for patients with gentleness and empathy; her approach is rooted in understanding from her own lived experience of pain and anxiety.
This approach can help many people with chronic pain and disease who have not otherwise been able to achieve relief. Many people have a nervous system that is on high alert, which can feed their experience of pain. True healing occurs by finding balance mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. When movement and stillness are coupled with breath, the nervous system learns to calm itself, assisting the body’s natural ability to heal.
Michelle has been helping patients achieve their goals for over 20 years. She received her master’s in Physical Therapy at the Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota in 2001. She is certified in several styles of yoga (Radiant Health Yoga, Therapeutic Yoga, Accessible Yoga) and she is an Integrative Wellness and Life Coach. In addition to her Physical Therapy services that are billable to insurance or cash-pay depending on whether we are in-network with your insurance plan, Michelle also offers Yoga Health Coaching that is cash pay only.
Michelle specializes in helping her patients with:
- Pelvic health: urinary incontinence, prolapse, pelvic pain.
- Pregnancy and postpartum
- Chronic pain
- Fibromyalgia
- Autoimmune conditions
- Joint hypermobility
- Tension headaches
